  • Do I need a Visa?
    As EU or U.S passport holder you do not require a visa for tourist entry into Morocco, on entry you are granted a 90-day tourist visa. For all other nationalities we highly recommend you to check with your nearest Moroccan Embassy. Please note, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date.
  • What is the Moroccan currency and where can I get it?
    The Moroccan Dirham (MAD) is the currency of Morocco. In general, many things are paid in cash. There are several ATM's in Taghazout and Tamraght, Agadir and Aourir too. You can bring your currency and exchange here or withdraw cash with your Visa or Mastercard.
  • What about insurance?
    You are responsible for obtaining travel insurance prior to travel. We take no responsibility for loss, theft, damage or injury to persons or surf equipment.
  • Do I need any vaccinations or medical precaution?
    No nothing is required to enter Morocco.
  • What electricity plugs are used in Morocco?
    Morocco is on 220 volts with two-pin round plugs. Please make sure you bring suitable adaptors for your appliances.
  • What do I need to pack?

  • Do I have to bring any surf equipment?
    No, we can provide you with everything, no need to buy something especially. Of course you can bring it if you already have something.
  • What clothing should I bring?
    Morocco is a liberal Muslim country, in the area where we are based it is not uncommon for men and women to dress in shorts and t-shirts. On the beach, you will find men in swim shorts and women in bikinis, but nudity is not experienced here. Bring our beach clothes and we also advise that you bring a couple of jumpers and some jeans for the evening, as this is when the temperature can drop a little.
  • Where is Chasing Swell located?
    Our Surf school is located in Tamraght, a coastal village 14km north of Agadir. A 45 minute drive from the airport and a 10 minute drive from the lively surf tourist hotspot of Taghazout.
  • Where to stay?
    Wherever you decide to rest your surfed-out body, we will pick you up from there every day. There are plenty of lovely accommodations, check out the villages of Tamraght, Taghazout or Aourir. We are sure that you will find something suitable for you!
  • How to get here?
    Agadir Al Massira is the nearest airport and offers plenty of connections to many European cities. Check out skyscanner.com to get the best and cheapest flights. It's also possible to come from Marrakech airport which is a 3.5h drive from here.
  • Is there an Airport Transfer?
    We can arrange your transfers, wherever you are arriving/departing.
  • What is the best way from Marrakech to Agadir?
    We can arrange you a private taxi for 125€ or you can get the bus (CTM or Supratours) which costs around 12€. ​
  • What are the amenities in the region?
    Tamraght has a number of cafes and restaurants offering everything from typical Moroccan cuisine to vegan options. There are many grocery stores as well as a well stocked pharmacy and several surf shops. There is a market every Tuesday that mainly offers fruit and vegetables. Taghazout is more touristic and therefore has a few souvenir shops, a wide range of restaurants, a few bars and several surf and clothing shops. Not to mention there is a skate park on the hill. Aourir is the least touristic of the three villages. The ATMs are in Aourir and there is a bazaar with handcrafted items. You can also find plenty of cafes and restaurants, you will get the best tajines in Aourir.
  • When is the best time of the year to come surf?
    Morocco is an all year round destination for great surf and great weather. Chasing Swell is open all year. The perfect time to visit depends on your surf level. Our recommondation: Beginners: all year round Intermediates: September - May Advanced: November - March
  • Can I buy surf supplies in the area?
    There are some surf shops in the area. They stock the essentials like wax, zinc, grip and fins etc. The choice of surfboards and clothing is also growing. Most shops that offer board repairs are often inexpensive and of good quality.
  • What does the food look like?
    A wide range of traditional Moroccan dishes as well as European dishes are available in many restaurants and cafes. There are also plenty of options for vegetarians or other dietary needs.
  • Can I drink the water?
    We don't recommend to drink tap water at all in Morocco. Bring your reusable water bottle to refill to help eliminate plastics bottles.
  • Can I drink Alcohol?
    Morocco is a Muslim country and it's not allowed to drink outside. There are a range of Restaurants and Bars where alcoholic drinks can be legally served and sold. There are some selected supermarkets in Agadir where you can buy alcohol and drink it at your place.
